Christmas Recap

Well I hope that everyone had a great Christmas. We spent Christmas in Southern Utah with James' family this year we had a lot of fun and loved being able to see some of the cousins. Well I had a very interesting experience while we were there I forgot some things for the boys stocking so I ran to Harmon's to get a few things to put in them. I started walking down the Christmas candy Isle when this man with a Santa hat approached me. This is how are conversation continued.
Man: Hello
Me: Hello (a little hesitant)
Man: He holds out a 100 dollar bill at me
Me: Is that one of those fake 100 bills
Man: No, I need you to take this
Me: Why?
Man: Because
Me: I take the bill out of his hand. Then I ask him why he is doing this?
Man: He says I have a lot of money and I need to get rid of all these tonight.
Me: Thank you
Then he just walks away I wait there in shock it's amazing that their are still people who are doing good deeds even with the way are economy is going with people being laid off and company's going out of business. It will always be a Christmas Eve that I will never forget.
Here are some pictures after Santa came

Christmas Tree Traditions

We started a few Christmas traditions last year. Jakob picks out the Christmas tree, and puts the star on the top. I love the way are tree looks this year. Jakob picked out a really good tree, and put the star on, and he also made the ornaments for the tree this year.

I saw this Idea in a magazine of ways to get your kids involved I glued the Popsicle sticks together then Jakob glued on all of the buttons he was so proud when he was finished and I love the way they look in the tree.

My younger sister Kelsey was watching my boys and she took them to the craft store and found these owls for their ornaments for this year.

BEFORE I WAS A MOM

Before I was a Mom
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words of lullabies.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on
Pooped on
Spit on
Chewed on
Peed on
Or pinched by tiny fingers

Before I was a Mom
I had complete control of:
My thoughts
My body
And my mind.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child
So that doctors could do tests
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
When I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
Could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
Could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay
I had never known the warmth
The joy
The love
The heartache
The wonder
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

Baby Sayings about First, Second, and Third Babies

I found this and it had me laughing. I hope all you mothers enjoy.

Having a new baby changes everything. But the way you handle being a parent also changes with each new baby. Here are some new baby sayings about the ways having a second and third child is different from having your first.

Preparing for Birth
FIRST BABY: She practices breathing religiously.
SECOND BABY: She doesn’t bother practicing because she remembers the last time, breathing didn’t do a thing.
THIRD BABY: She asks for an epidural in the 8th month.

Clothes of the Mom-to-Be
FIRST BABY: She begins wearing maternity clothes as soon as the OB/GYN confirms the pregnancy.
SECOND BABY: She wears her regular clothes for as long as possible.
THIRD BABY: Maternity clothes ARE her regular clothes.

Worries
FIRST BABY: At the first sign of distress - a whimper, a frown – the parents pick up the baby.
SECOND BABY: They pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake the firstborn.
THIRD BABY: They teach the 3-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.

The Layette
FIRST BABY: The newborn’s clothes are carefully pre-washed with special delicate detergent, color-coordinated, and folded neatly in the baby’s little bureau.
SECOND BABY: She checks to make sure that the clothes are clean and discards only the ones with the darkest stains.
THIRD BABY: Boys can wear pink, can’t they?

Diapering
FIRST BABY: The baby’s diapers are changed every hour, whether they need it or not.
SECOND BABY: The diaper is changed every 2 to 3 hours, if needed.
THIRD BABY: The parents try to time the changing of diapers before others start to complain about the smell or it starts sagging to the knees.

Pacifier
FIRST BABY: If the pacifier falls on the floor, they put it away until they can go home and wash and boil it.
SECOND BABY: When the pacifier falls on the floor, they squirt it off with some juice from the baby’s bottle.
THIRD BABY: A quick wipe off on the shirt and just pop it back in.

Happy Birthday

We wanted to wish our BIL Chuck a Happy Birthday Today. He is married to James' older sister and has 4 beautiful daughters. He is a really great husband and father. We hope you have a great birthday.

Halloween Fun Early

We had are ward party yesterday. And the superhero's made an appearance. Jakob was so excited to be Batman this year and since Kaeden is his sidekick we thought it only fitting for him to be Robin. We had a lot of fun and the boys are more excited for Halloween now that they've worn their costumes in public.
